Welcome to Ketcham Ranch, breeders of Pura Raza Española Horses, or Pure Spanish Andalusians as they are sometimes known in the U.S. Our goal is to produce horses with the movement, temperament, and structure to excel in the sport of competitive dressage while staying true to the breed type developed through centuries of selection and tradition in Spain. We began this journey with a filly purchased in Mexico in 1996 and we have continued to slowly and carefully develop a small group of horses hailing from the U.S., Mexico, and Spain.

We are located near the central coast of California in the rolling, oak-studded hills of San Benito County. Our horses are raised on the historical Paicines Ranch, a working cattle ranch outside of Hollister, CA, where our young stock have plenty of room to run and play for optimal social and physical development.

All of our horses are registered in the studbook of Spain and all of our breeding are horses are approved for breeding by the the Spanish authorities. We are proud to support USPREA in their efforts to promote the P.R.E. in Sport and to assist P.R.E. breeders in the U.S. in registering horses with the studbook in Spain. Of course, our horses are eligible for registration with U.S. registries operated by IALHA and the Foundation for the Pure Spanish Horse.

We invite you to peruse our site, which is currently still under construction...
